Anthony Jennings is expanding his acting portfolio as he is set to headline the international horror-comedy-drama film “Mother Maybe.”

Jennings’ upcoming international debut was announced during the Hong Kong FilMart 2025, as per American magazine Variety.

The film, directed by Filipino filmmaker Sonny Calvento, is co-produced by film production companies Southern Lantern Studios from the Philippines, E&W Films from Singapore, and Volos Films Ltd. from Taiwan.

The movie follows the story of the reunion of Marco, Jennings’ role, with his long-lost mother who he eventually discovers to be transforming into “something monstrous” at night.

Calvento, who regards the project as a tribute to his mother who left when he was young, praised the actor and his “natural charm that makes him so easy to watch.”

“He can make you laugh one moment and make you cry the next, which is exactly what this role demands,” the director said of Jennings, as quoted by Variety.

“This balance of comedic timing and emotional depth makes him the right fit for Marco,” Calvento added.

According to Southern Lantern Studios, the movie is set for production in the last quarter of 2025. Further details on the project have yet to be revealed as of this writing.

Jennings currently stars as Tomas Guerrero in the action-drama TV series “Incognito.” He also recently headlined the film “Sosyal Climbers” alongside his love-team partner Maris Racal.
