Rody Vera and Jamie Wilson were announced as additional members of the star-studded cast of the Manila staging of Stephen Sondheim’s “Into The Woods,” where they will both take on dual roles.
Vera and Wilson’s casting was announced by Theatre Group Asia in a press statement where the former will portray the Narrator and the Mysterious Man. Meanwhile, the latter will star as Cinderella’s Father and the Steward.
For Wilson, joining the Manila staging as a member of the ensemble is a “wonderful experience” since they play a crucial role in building up the story.
“Oftentimes smaller roles can be so much fun because there’s more creative room to play with them! And in ‘Into The Woods,’ the world we need to build is so rich with layers to explore. And in playing dual roles as Cinderella’s Father and the Steward, I anticipate a lot of fun is coming my way,” he added.
Also part of the cast are Lea Salonga, Eugene Domingo, Mark Bautista, Nyoy Volante, Arielle Jacobs, Mikkie Bradshaw Volante, Joreen Bautista, and Nic Chien.
Joining the Manila staging of the hit musical are Carla Guevara Laforteza, Kakki Teodoro, Teetin Villanueva, Tex Ordoñez, and Sarah Facuri.
Aside from Vera and Wilson’s casting, it was also announced that “Into The Woods” added six additional shows due to audience demand. It will run from August 7 to 24 and on August 28 to 31 at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Makati.
