Regine Velasquez records ‘A Million Dreams’ cover with US singer Loren Allred

Regine Velasquez made American singer Loren Allred’s fangirl dreams come true after recording a powerful rendition of “A Million Dreams,” one of the songs in the musical film “The Greatest Showman.”
Allred took to her Instagram page on Saturday, March 16 to express her excitement over recording a song with Velasquez, describing the latter as one of her “all-time favorite voices” and “one of the greatest singers of all time.”
“The legendary @reginevalcasid is one of my all-time favorite voices and hands down one of the greatest singers of all time. I still can’t believe that I get to announce that TONIGHT, I’m releasing our version of ‘A Million Dreams,’” she wrote.

The American singer shared that Velasquez has been “one of [her] idols” while thanking Filipino-American singer Troy Laureta for introducing them to each other.
“Singing with one of my idols used to feel totally out of reach, but tonight, I’m just smiling and so grateful that dreams really do come true,” she said.
“Big thanks to @troylaureta for making this duet happen. And to everyone out there, keep dreaming big and remember. anything is possible. Thank you @reginevalcasid! Hope you all love our duet,” Allred further added.
Allred and Velasquez’s “A Million Dreams” cover is uploaded on the former’s YouTube channel.
Prior to their duet, Allred and Laureta performed a cover of Velasquez’s “Araw Gabi” in November 2021.
Allred is notable for being the original singer of “Never Enough,” which was lip-synced by actress Rebecca Ferguson in “The Greatest Showman.” Her identity was initially concealed until she revealed herself after performing the song in “Britain’s Got Talent” in 2022.
The singer also provided the demo vocals for “A Million Dreams.”
Velasquez earlier made headlines after revealing to an ABS-CBN News video interview that she has been preparing for her retirement. She previously held her “Reset” Valentine’s concert last February.
