Fyang Smith on viral ‘Nasaan si Fyang’ memes, rising stardom: ‘Nandito na po ako’

“Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11” Big Winner Sofia “Fyang” Smith has learned to embrace being the center of internet frenzy phrase, “Nasaan si Fyang?” which did not only gain the attention of fans but celebrities as well.
“Happy po ako na hinahanap ako. Pero ngayon nandito na po ako. I’m here at MOA, mag-peperform. So I hope nandito rin sila sa labas,” she laughingly told reporters at her first ever brand endorsement.
The phrase stemmed from netizens’ comments endlessly looking for Smith on social media, specifically in events where her fellow “PBB” stars Rain Celmar, Kolette Madelo and Kai Montinola were present, but she’s not.
The expression extended even to the events that are not anyhow related to Smith, including the time where the Gutierrez family held their Christmas Party in December.
In the Feb. 6 episode of “It’s Showtime,” Vice Ganda alongside his fellow hosts expressed their confusion on the viral “Nasaan si Fyang?” remark.

“Di ko talaga ma-gets ‘yon kung bakit pati sa video ni Beyonce hinahanap nila si Fyang. Video ni Beyonce ‘yung pinapanood ko tapos nakalagay, ‘Nasaan si Fyang?’ Mahal ko si Fyang pero hindi ko rin talaga maintindihan,” said Vice Ganda laughingly.
“Araw-araw rin hinahanap sakin si Fyang. Hindi pa kami nag-kakakilala,” added host Bela Padilla.
Meanwhile, despite only being in the limelight for less than a year, Smith shared that she is now getting used to the fame.
“Unti-unti na po akong nasasanay. Matagal na po since lumabas ako ng Pinoy Big Brother house. Up until now, very overwhelming ‘yung mga supporter,” she said.
Now that “PBB” is set to have its new edition as a collaboration between ABS-CBN and GMA, the 18-year-old shared advice to the future housemates of the reality show.
“Papayag po ako [kung ma-invite] as guest housemate. My tips for them siguro is huwag sila matakot ipakita kung sino sila, kasi doon sila mamahalin ng tao,” she stated.
