Vice Ganda is back to his healthy state after he suffered from dengue recently, as disclosed by his fellow “It’s Showtime” host Kim Chiu during their show banter.

The topic was brought up during the noontime show’s Feb. 26 episode, after Vice Ganda thanked the diagnostic clinic that took care of him and his partner Ion Perez when they were “sick.”

“Okay na po ang platelets ko kaya thank you very much. Normal na ulit,” the comedian said.

“Madlang people, keep hydrated ha. Napakahalaga ng hydration,” he addressed the audience.

Chiu then remarked, “Buti okay ka na ngayon, ma. Pero kahit may dengue ka, nagtrabaho ka pa rin.”

Vice Ganda instantly burst into laughter and jokingly confronted Chiu, “Talagang in-out mong nagka-dengue ako.”

The other TV hosts could not help but laugh about it, with Darren Espanto telling Chiu, “Bestie, hanggang group chat lang dapat natin ‘yon.”

Chiu, holding her laughter, then told Vice Ganda, “Pero magaling ka na!”

The comedian further stated that he was unaware that he had dengue at the time, and that he only knew his diagnosis when he was already recovering from the disease.

“Mataas ang immune system ko; kumpleto ako sa mga bitamina at tsaka healthy living na ako,” he noted, regarding it as the reason why he was still able to work despite his condition.

The Department of Health (DOH) earlier reported a rise in dengue cases, with more than 43,000 cases logged nationwide from January to Feb. 15 this year.
