Pokwang seeks NBI help vs scammer using her home address for staycation
Image: Instagram/@itspokwang27Actress Pokwang has sought the help of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) after a scammer used her address in Antipolo as that of a supposed staycation resort.
On “24 Oras,” the comedienne said that people have been coming to her home after being victimized by the scammer.
“Minsan sa isang araw ang kumakatok na tao dito tatlo hanggang limang biktima, sa isang araw lang ‘yon at karamihan doon mga nagda-down [payment] na,” she shared, adding that initial payments ranged from P5,000 to P10,000.
(Sometimes in a day three to five victims would be knocking on our gates, that’s just in one day and most of them have already made their down payments.)
“Siguro sa isang linggo kumikita siya mahigit kumulang 200,000,” she said. (Probably in a week the scammer earns more or less 200,000.)
The report included a screenshot of a post from a Facebook page that purports to be that for a staycation resort, luring customers with pictures.
“Maiinganyo ka sa mga pinopost sa account […] Pero wala talaga ganong resort,” said Pokwang. (You would be tempted by what is posted on the account […] But there really is no such resort.)
According to the victims, after they made their payments, the scammer would immediately block them.
Pokwang, who already filed her formal complaint at the NBI, stressed that she is determined to get the scammer be accountable.
“Natatakot ako para sa family ko. Nilagay mo sa risk ‘yung buhay ng family ko. Kaya hindi kita titigilan. Kakasuhan ko siya,” she said.
(I’m afraid for my family. You put my family’s life at risk. So I won’t let you get away with this. I will sue this person.)
Last year, Pokwang also aired her complaint after losing a fairly large amount of money stored in her GCash account.
