Filipino actress Maris Racal turned heads with her first red-carpet look at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, or Berlinale 2025.
Attending the international film festival for the first time, Racal exuded elegance in a pastel green gown with a floor-length silhouette. The backless dress featured a halter neckline adorned with white floral embellishments.
The “Can’t Buy Me Love” actress described her Berlinale debut as “unforgettable” as she represented her film “Sunshine” at the festival.
“My first Berlinale International Film Festival—truly unforgettable. I simply cannot wait for Sunshine’s European premiere. I’m so happy for us [@project8projects @tonetjadaone] huhu what a milestone [crying emoji],” she wrote on her Instagram page.
In the comments section, fans and fellow celebrities praised Racal’s natural beauty and elegance, mentioning the “Getty Images Curse,” which originated in the K-pop industry as the visual media company is infamous for its “raw photos and unflattering angles.”
“The getty image curse doesn’t work on her! WERK DIVA,” said young star Awra Briguela, adding that she was very proud of Racal.
“Defeating the Getty image curse with that face card!!!” pitched in another netizen.

Prior to its European debut, “Sunshine” already premiered and competed at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) last year, and at the Palm Springs Film Festival earlier this year.
Directed by Antoinette Jadaone, “Sunshine” follows the struggles of a young gymnast (Racal) who tries to terminate her pregnancy as she discovers that she is pregnant ahead of her tryouts for the national team.
Aside from Racal, the film also features Elijah Canlas, Xyriel Manabat, Annika Co and Jennica Garcia.
Despite her previous cheating controversy involving her on-screen partner Anthony Jennings and his ex-girlfriend Jam Villanueva, Racal recently went viral after stunning viewers when she willingly flaunted her trimmed physique in a two-piece lingerie during a fight scene for “Incognito.”
Meanwhile, Berlinale 2025 opened the event with the presentation of the Honorary Golden Bear to Hollywood star Tilda Swinton.
Timothée Chalamet, Fiona Shaw, Emma Mackey, and more are among the stars who graced the red carpet of this year’s film festival.
