For Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo, being married or in a committed relationship shouldn’t stop a couple from expressing love for each other. This can be shown through engaging in flirty behavior with one’s partner now and then.

Whether you’re single or taken, flirting or “landian” is a way to keep up the excitement in a romance. Some flirt with their crushes through prolonged eye contact, while others show off their best sides to a potential partner. At the same time, flirting does not stop when you’re married or in a relationship with someone.

Trillo said taking care of yourself is important to keep the romance burning for married couples. “Kapag mag-asawa, kailangan alagaan mo ang sarili natin para ma-attract pa rin sa’yo ang partner mo (When you’re married, you need to take care yourself so your spouse can still be attracted to you),” he said.

The actor added that being married should not stop someone from being their best self. “Huwag mong pabayaan ang sarili mo para nae-excite pa rin kayo sa isa’t isa. Feel ko napakaimportante ‘yun (Do not take your appearance for granted so you can still be excited with each other. I feel that’s important),” Trillo explained.

Meanwhile, Mercado pointed out that keeping your partner is key to maintaining the romance in marriage. “Isipin mo kung paano mo mapapasaya ang asawa mo. Bigyan mo siya ng time [at] papakiligin mo siya (Think of ways to make your partner happy. Give time for him. Give him butterflies),” she said.

Touching on the topic of “kilig,” the actress stressed that husbands must be on the receiving end of it as well, noting that giving him compliments and making him happy keep the spice in a relationship.

“Kahit lalaki siya, hindi naman porket mag-asawa kayo or mag-girlfriend and boyfriend, ‘yun lalaki lang ang nagpapakilig. Siyempre, need din nila ng konting pambobola and lagi mo siyang babatiin, mga konting landian like ‘Ang gwapo mo ngayon’ or ‘ang bango mo,’” she said.

(Even if he’s the man — or even if you’re married or are still girlfriend and boyfriend doesn’t mean the man is the only one tasked with bringing butterflies. Of course, you need to compliment and give him attention. Flirt with him like “You’re handsome today” or “You smell good.”)

Kim Molina

Kim Molina, who’s engaged to Jerald Napoles since August 2024, said being “yourself” is the best way to get someone’s attention. “Just be yourself and make sure ‘yung lalandiin mo, lalandiin ka rin para balanse [at] hindi ka mukhang ewan,” she said.

(Just be yourself. Make sure the one you’re flirting with will flirt with you in return so things will be balanced and you won’t look pitiful.)

As someone who’s been with Napoles for quite some time, Molina is aware that boredom happens in long-term relationships, but she stressed that meeting someone with whom one can be themselves does matter.

“Boredom happens. It’s part of the ups and downs. People always look for someone to grow old with but the secret is finding someone to stay a child with. That means you should stay with someone [who you can be yourself] and communicate with,” she said.

Sam Milby

Sam Milby confessed that he’s more of the “shy” type when it comes to the pursuit of love. “It’s something that I struggle with because I’m shy. I’ve always been more of the ‘torpe’ type,” he said, noting that he is aware that men need to be more aggressive when it comes to showing interest.

But if Milby can advise his fellow guys, he reiterated that being “straightforward” instead of “playing the game” is a better way to win someone’s heart.

“For me, ang magiging payo ko sa mga lalaki is if you want it, go for it. When we’re young, we’re more of playing stupid games. If you’re serious, don’t play the game. Just be straightforward. Be honest with how you feel,” he said.

BILIB

Laughs erupted when P-pop boy group BILIB was asked about their landi tips during a one-on-one interview. Clyde went first in answering the question, saying, “Siguro tititigan mo sa mata. Tapos habang sumasayaw ka, dapat pinapa-express mo sa kanya. Diba kapag nagpeperform ka, dapat charismatic ka.”

(I guess you have to look at them in the eye. While dancing, show them what you feel. You should be charismatic while performing, right?)

For his part, the group’s leader, Yukito, said he would opt to express his interest through food. “Aim for the stomach. Kapag gusto mo, pakainin mo. Ilibre mo sa mga masasarap (Aim for the stomach. If you like them, take them out to eat. Take them to good restaurants),” he said.

JMAC, on the other hand, went for a different route, advising fans to be sure of themselves before getting into a relationship.

“Hindi siya actually landi tip. Pero kung lalandi ka man or papasok ka sa isang relationship, be sure and be ready sa pinapasok mo (This is not actually a landi tip. But if you’re planning to flirt with someone or get into a relationship, be sure and be ready with what you’re getting yourself into),” he said.

Zela

Solo artist Zela admitted that she doesn’t know how to show her interest in someone. However, she would sometimes be misinterpreted as such because she’s more “energetic” around friends.

“Hindi talaga ako marunong kasi sinasabi ng iba na nagfe-flirt ako, but I didn’t know na [gan’un na pala ang dating]. Kapag ako nagkacrush, I’m more quiet. Nahihiya ako. Hindi ako OA (overacting),” she said.

(I really don’t know how to flirt. Others would tell me that I was flirting with someone but I didn’t know that it came across that way. When I have a crush on someone, I’m more quiet. I get shy. I am not OA.)

Calista

Touching on their song “Oops My Bad,” Calista’s Dain said being a “red flag” is a no-no when it comes to showing interest toward someone.

“Wag kang masyadong red flag. Unahin mo muna ang career and lahat. Huwag ka masyadong [atat]. The right person will come (Do not be a red flag. Put your career and yourself first. Don’t be too eager. The right person will come),” she said.

The group’s leader, Anne, agreed with Dain’s thoughts, saying, “The right person will come to you basta alam mo ang worth mo (If you know your worth).”
