February 14 will be busy for Alexa Ilacad as she is in the thick of rehearsing for the upcoming musical “Liwanag sa Dilim,” which is based on the music of singer-songwriter and musician Rico Blanco.
Valentine’s Day goes both ways. Couples will enjoy a romantic date either in a swanky restaurant or at home over a home-cooked meal, while the singles will celebrate self-love or enjoy a “gal-entines” date with their closest friends. Either way, the Day of Hearts is a special time to celebrate love and show that it goes beyond romance.
On the sidelines of the “Liwanag sa Dilim” press preview, Ilacad said rehearsals for the upcoming musical’s staging will take up most of her time. She will, however, still find time to have lunch with onscreen partner KD Estrada on the weekend.
“I’m here rehearsing. February 14 exactly, I’ll be here in the studio,” she said.
“Siguro sa weekend before or after work, kasi may raket din ako, lalabas din po kami. I think [KD and I] will have lunch. Sino pa ba (Perhaps on the weekend before or after work, because I need to work, we’ll go out. I think KD and I will have lunch. Who else),” Ilacad continued while smiling.

Meanwhile, onscreen partners Paulo Avelino and Kim Chiu said they won’t spend Valentine’s Day together since they’re seemingly busy with work as well.
“Kapag sinabi ko ang Valentine’s plans ko, baka i-promote ko na rin. Sa mga tao sa Kidapawan, magkita-kita tayo (If I share my Valentine’s plans, I might end up promoting. To those in Kidapawan, let’s see each other soon),” Avelino said during the “My Love Will Make You Disappear” poster-reveal event.
Chiu, when asked if she would be with her leading man on Feb. 14, said they wouldn’t be, adding: “Pwede naman [maging Valentine’s] araw-araw (Every day can be Valentine’s Day, anyway).”

“Kami po, more on training and rehearsals. Sa mga surprises namin, mas nakafocus kami na maibigay ang best namin sa performance namin sa Waterbomb. Kung magkakaroon ng time, magcecelebrate with family,” BILIB’s RC said.

“Ang ginagawa namin every Valentine’s Day, kami-kami lang. Kumakain (What we do every Valentine’s Day is spending time together, eating),” Dain said while her bandmates were laughing in the background.
The group’s leader, Anne, added that they also greet each other while eating. “Kami-kami lang sa isang table, magkakasama. Magsasabihan ng ‘Happy Valentine’s (We sit together at one table and greet each other ‘Happy Valentine’s).’”
