Singer Frenchie Dy was emotional while asking for prayers after she suffered from Bell’s palsy attack for the third time.

Bell’s palsy, as per Mayo Clinic, is “a condition that causes sudden weakness in the muscles on one side of the face.” This is also known as acute peripheral facial palsy of unknown cause that can occur at any age.

The “Star in a Million” alum revealed her health condition through a Facebook video shared on Tuesday, Feb. 4, in which she documented the first day of her journey to recovery.

“Third Bell’s palsy attack, nakakaloka. Yesterday habang nagla-lunch kami ni hubby, naramdaman ko na iba ‘yung panlasa ko. Then after mga 1 o’clock, nung umiinom ako ng tubig, naramdaman ko na tumutulo na ‘yung water,” she recalled.

Dy immediately went to the hospital where her doctors confirmed that she was suffering from another Bell’s palsy attack.

“Medyo naiiyak ako kasi pinanghihinaan ako ng loob, pero I know na maraming nagpe-pray for me… Kaya ko ‘to, laban lang,” she said while wiping tears from her eyes.

In succeeding videos, Dy said she was already undergoing therapy, and even tried to belt out a song despite her condition.

“Mahirap man ang hamon, dapat lumaban. Salamat sa Diyos nakakakanta pa rin ako,” she stated. “Medyo nakakabingi lang pero it’s getting better. I’m patient and claiming that I’ll be healed soon.”

Dy’s first Bell’s palsy attack was when she was in fifth grade. She suffered another one in 2006, two years after winning the reality competition “Star in a Million.”
