Sandara Park was among the celebrities who paid tribute to Barbie Hsu, with the K-pop star underscoring the influence the late Taiwanese actress had on her showbiz career.

Park said this in response to X user @pauloMDtweets who shared a video of the former’s song performance of “Ni Yao De Ai” during a New Year’s Eve party back in December.

The song is the original soundtrack of “Meteor Garden,” the 2001 TV series Hsu was best known for.

Rest in peace Barbie Hsu. I got influenced by you since when I started my career,” Park wrote. “We will always remember you.”

Hsu, who reportedly had a history of epilepsy and heart disease, died while on a Japan trip last Feb. 2 due to pneumonia caused by influenza complication. Her remains were cremated in Japan and already arrived in Taiwan on Wednesday, Feb. 5.

Filipino fans are among those who mourn Hsu’s sudden death, with most of them regarding the late actress and “Meteor Garden” as an iconic part of their childhood.

Videos of Hsu’s visits to the Philippines have resurfaced on social media, along with a clip from her 2003 interview with Filipino actress-TV host Kris Aquino, in which the Taiwanese actress revealed her dream of being a grandmother with a big family at 50. Hsu died at the age of 48.

Hsu is survived by her husband, Korean rapper Koo Jun-yup “DJ Koo,” and her two children from her previous marriage to Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei.
