TJ Monterde revealed he wrote a song that is also a “prayer of longing and waiting” for God to bless him and his wife, fellow singer KZ Tandingan, with their first child.
Monterde sang the track for the first time during the second day of his three-day concert, as seen in a video on his TikTok page on Monday, Feb. 3.
Prior to his performance, Monterde narrated that the song was initially inspired by his awe of the Aurora Borealis, or the northern lights, which he was able to witness with Tandingan.
“I’m telling you this is special because as I was writing this song, it started off as a song about the northern lights. But then, when the song progresses, I realized it wasn’t just a song about the northern lights,” he said.
“It was actually a prayer — a prayer of longing, a prayer of waiting that somehow in God’s time, puhon, I’m not just gonna see the northern lights but I’m gonna be able to see a little girl,” he continued. “And when that time comes, we’re gonna call her Aurora.”

Tandingan and Monterde, who have been together since January 2015, got engaged in December 2019. The couple wed in August 2020, the height of the pandemic, but only announced it to the public after two months.
The couple tied the knot for the second time in 2023, during the celebration of their third wedding anniversary.
