Miss Teen USA alumna joins Miss World Quezon City 2025 pageant

The first-ever competition for Quezon City’s delegate to the Miss World Philippines pageant has attracted an aspirant who has already competed in Miss Teen USA, Asia Rose Simpson.

The 17-year-old Christian missionary was among the 10 candidates of the 2025 Miss World Quezon City pageant presented to members of the media in Manila on Friday afternoon, Jan. 31.

Simpson competed in the 2023 Miss Teen USA pageant as the representative from New Mexico, and was voted by her fellow contestants as Miss Congeniality. UmaSofia Srivastava from New Jersey won the title, then later abdicated the throne because of conflicts with the organization.

“Uma, I had the pleasure of being in the same pageant as you. And I was actually one of your friends, I hope you still remember me. Keep going, good luck. You have such a bright future ahead. God bless you,” she said in an interview by INQUIRER.net.

Simpson is now representing Brgy. Socorro in the city pageant, and hopes to land another national competition, this time in her mother’s native land. She said she grew up in Roxas City, Capiz, where her missionary work started.

“Whenever I join a pageant, it’s all about purpose, and experience. I’ve already gained purpose, I know why I’m here. But if I can gain more experience in the real world, and for the real world, then I call it a win,” she told INQUIRER.net.

If Simpson wins the Miss World Quezon City crown, she will compete in the national contest and try to succeed Krishnah Gravidez for the chance to represent the Philippines in the Miss World pageant.

Jen Jarina, local director of the Miss World Quezon City pageant, said the organization is looking for somone “who has good moral character, the values that she has in life, and of course, the beauty, intelligence, and a  great body.”

The 2025 Miss World Quezon City pageant will crown a winner in April, while the 2025 Miss World Philippines competition will be held in October, Jarina shared.
