‘Emily in Paris’ star Lily Collins, husband welcome first child via surrogate

Emily in Paris” actress Lily Collins and her husband Charlie McDowell announced the arrival of their first child, a baby girl named Tove, through surrogacy.

On Saturday, Feb. 1, the couple expressed their gratitude to their surrogate as they shared an image of their newborn baby lying in a cushioned bassinet with Collins’ hand placed on the baby’s tummy.

The newborn is dressed in a neutral-colored outfit and is wearing a knitted beanie adorned with floral embroidery. A personalized white blanket embroidered with the name “Tove” in gold thread is also draped over the bassinet.

In 2017, Collins got candid as she opened up about how she overcame her eating disorder in hope of bearing a child someday.

“My reason to finally start talking about [my eating disorder] was the moment I realized I wanted a family. I wanted kids. I didn’t want this to be something I bring into that,” stated the actress.

After sparking dating rumors in July 2019, Collins and McDowell made their relationship Instagram official a month later. They got engaged in 2020 and tied the knot a year later.

Collins rose to fame after landing her breakout role in the 2009 sports drama “The Blind Side” alongside Sandra Bullock. She then took on the lead role in “Mirror Mirror,” opposite Julia Roberts.

The 35-year-old actress also starred in the romantic comedy film “Love Rosie” and the young adult series “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.” Her lead performance in the series “Emily in Paris” skyrocketed Collins’ popularity, earning her nominations for different awarding bodies.

Lily is the daughter of musician Phil Collins, known for his hits “Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)” and “You’ll Be in My Heart,” among others.
