Jessica Simpson, husband Eric Johnson split after 10 years of marriage

Singer-actor Jessica Simpson and her husband, former NFL player Eric Johnson, have separated after 10 years of marriage.
“Eric and I have been living separately, navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” Simpson, 44, told People in a statement Monday, Jan. 13.
“Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”

The pair, who tied the knot in 2014 after four years of dating, share three children: Maxwell “Maxi” Drew, 12, Ace Knute, 11, and Birdie Mae, 5.
Article continues after this advertisementSimpson was previously married to the lead singer of the multi-platinum-selling boyband 98 Degrees, Nick Lachey, from 2002 to 2006. The former couple appeared on the MTV reality television series “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.”
Simpson rose to fame in 1999 with her chart-topping debut single, “I Wanna Love You Forever.” Her debut studio album, Sweet Kisses (1999), sold two million copies in the United States.
In her active years, the singer-actor released seven studio albums and has starred in several shows and movies, including 2005’s “The Dukes of Hazzard,” 2006’s “Employee of the Month” and 2007’s “Blonde Ambition.”
Meanwhile, Johnson played for the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints.
