Vice Ganda joins Royeca in rallying support for Filipino breadwinners

Critically acclaimed actor and beloved television personality Vice Ganda took a break from her busy schedule to lend her signature energy and unwavering support to the Angkasangga Partylist during a campaign sortie led by former Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso.

The event, held last December 2024, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Malate, Manila, featured Vice joining Angkasangga’s first nominee, Angkas CEO George Royeca, to kick off the program. Over 4,000 Manila residents, including senior citizens and loyal supporters of Moreno, attended the gathering.

Drawing inspiration from her leading role in the upcoming comedy family drama film And the Breadwinner is…, Vice paid tribute to the resilience and hard work of breadwinners in the crowd. She highlighted Angkasangga’s commitment to representing and protecting these workers, declaring: “Sa dami ng pinagdaanan ninyo sa pagsuporta sa pamilya niyo, kailangan niyo ng Kasangga na proproteksyunan at susuportahan kayo. At ‘yan ang 107 Angkasangga.”

Royeca, a dedicated advocate for the nation’s informal workers, echoed this message, vowing to uplift the lives of Manila’s breadwinners in his congressional campaign. “Kahit hindi pormal na empleyado, basta breadwinner, dapat may benepisyo mula sa gobyerno. ‘Yan ang sisiguraduhin nating maisabatas,” he affirmed.

The ‘unkabogable’ collaboration between Vice Ganda and Royeca promises to amplify representation for Filipino breadwinners, particularly those in the informal economy. Vice, whose much-anticipated film will be part of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2025, will use her iconic charm and acting prowess to spotlight the struggles of a breadwinner working as an OFW—a narrative that deeply resonates with Filipino audiences.
