Director Mark Reyes has clarified that his iconic 2006 movie “Moments of Love,” starring Dingdong Dantes and Iza Calzado, won’t have a sequel or a remake following online rumors that the film is set to have a second installment.

Reyes took to Facebook on Saturday, Jan. 4, to explain that his upcoming film, “Moments of Love: On Borrowed Time,” will only have the same premise as “Moments of Love.”

“Just to clarify, “Moments of Love: On Borrowed Time” is not a sequel or a remake. It’s an entirely new story, but again it is about an extra-ordinary love between two people from two different time periods,” he wrote on the post.

“Moments of Love” was well-received in the Philippines upon its release almost 20 years ago. It follows the time-crossed romance between Marco (Dantes), a young man living in the 2000s, and Divina (Calzado), a woman living in the 1950s.

Despite being separated by decades, the pair develop a deep connection, sharing their hopes, dreams, and feelings through their phone conversations. The film also stars Karylle, Gloria Romero, and Ian Veneracion, among others.
