Rufa Mae Quinto’s estranged husband Trevor Magallanes has set the record straight regarding rumors of rekindling his marriage with the actress-comedian, as he stressed that he has “no intention” of continuing their romance.
Responding recently to a netizen’s comment on Instagram, Magallanes denied the claims, stating, “We are not back. I have no intention [of] having any other relationship with her than ex-spouse.”
The statement comes after he posted an Instagram reel that showed old pictures of him and Quinto with their daughter Athena that made the netizens speculate that the former couple might have gotten back together.
In the same comments section, Magallanes emphasized that he’s not interested in any “relationship advice” that netizens have for him, as he replied that they would be “disappointed” in their wishes that the ex-couple be friends for the sake of their daughter.
On Dec. 14, Magallanes confirmed via his Instagram story that he and Quinto are currently processing their divorce, describing their marriage as “sh*t show.”
“Hey guys, I felt like I [needed] to explain myself based on social media and all that. I want to make myself clear that Rufa Mae and I are in the process of a divorce,” he stated at the time. “You may be aware divorce can be very devastating to the children and also the parents. That being said, my marriage has been a sh*t show, and I am sorry for that.”
As of writing, Quinto has yet to publicly comment on her split with Magallanes.
Quinto and Magallanes got married in 2016 and welcomed their daughter Athena the following year.
Speculations of the pair’s marital woes arose earlier in December after alleged screenshots of their heated exchange circulated on social media.
The viral screenshots included Quinto asking Magallanes to delete his “nega post” and appealing to him to “hear” her and to support their daughter. Parts of it also showed Magallanes cursing at the actress, accusing her of using their child against him.
