TV host-actress Christine Jacob-Sandejas is in mourning as she announced the death of her father, George Charles Jacob, who died on Dec. 31, the last day of 2024.

Jacob-Sandejas confirmed her father’s death on her Instagram account on Wednesday, Jan. 1, although she didn’t disclose the cause of his passing. He was 85.

In separate posts, Jacob-Sandejas looked back at her favorite memories with her father, to celebrate his life. The posts include a photo of herself sitting on his lap and her parents’ breakfast date.

“Forever in my heart. I love you so much my dearest daddy. Continue to watch over me like you always have. My heart aches for you but at the same time rejoices knowing you are in a better place,” she captioned one of her posts.

A former swimmer, Jacob-Sandejas started her journalistic career at PTV before moving to ABS-CBN, GMA, CNN Philippines (until its shutdown in January 2024), and eventually Newswatch Plus.

She was also a host of “Eat Bulaga” and “Magandang Tanghali Bayan,” and also appeared in the films “Sam & Miguel” and “Kuya Kong Siga.”
