It was a heartbreaking start to the year for Rico Blanco as he mourned the loss of his “dearest” furbaby, Sylvian. He, however, didn’t disclose the cause of his pet’s death.
Blanco looked back at some of his favorite memories with Sylvian, a dog of Czech and DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik) Shepherd breed, on his Instagram page on Wednesday, Jan. 1, while expressing how much his dog meant to him.
“Run free now, dearest Sylvian. My baby, my buddy, my joy. Thank you. I love you so much Sylvie boy,” he captioned his post.
Ryan Agoncillo, Sam YG and Jugs Jugueta sent their condolences to the singer-songwriter in the comments.
The singer-songwriter spoke about being a fur dad in some interviews, where he shared that his pet dogs were the ones who kept him company while dealing with isolation at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Blanco recently performed at the “NYE at the 5th” New Year’s event in Taguig last Dec. 31, where he was also joined by K-pop girl group ITZY and electronic music duo Honne. His music is set to be turned into the upcoming musical “Liwanag sa Dilim,” which will be helmed by theater production company 9 Works Theatrical.
