Marilou Diaz-Abaya shares the good news about her health condition on her Facebook account. The multi-awarded director, who has been battling cancer for five years now, said: “The cancer cells in my brain have been reduced significantly since my radiation program three months ago. I’m off chemo for a whole month—just daily hormone pills which, hopefully, will relieve me from the usual side effects. Then, the next (series of) tests will determine how (I should) proceed. I intend to get more physically active during this respite period. (By the way), this happy development happened during the (fiesta of Our Lady of Peñafrancia in Naga City) last week.
