The show must go on after Gary Valenciano declared that the second night of his “Pure Energy, One More Time” concert will proceed as scheduled on Sunday, December 22.

In a statement on Sunday, Valenciano announced that his show, which will take place at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, will proceed. The announcement was also posted on his social media platforms.

“‘I will be at the Araneta today. No weapon formed against me will prosper.’ – Gary,” it said.

“It’s a go! Today’s Sunday, December 22 show will be pushing through. Thank you everyone for your prayers, especially our Dec 22 ticket buyers for your patience and understanding,” the statement continued.

Valenciano’s team noted that the decision “came with much prayer” while apologizing to his fans for the inconvenience.

“We apologize for any inconvenience during the standby for this announcement. The decision of Gary came with much prayer. We will see you later tonight at 8 p.m. at Smart Araneta Coliseum for ‘Pure Energy One More Time,’ it said.

The singer-performer made headlines after ending the first day of his concert last Friday. December 20, earlier due to health concerns. “I don’t know if I can finish this show tonight. It breaks my heart to know that we have prepared so much for all of you, but the body is saying, ‘Be cautious, Gary. You have many more years to go,’” he said before he was assisted from the stage.

Moments later, his wife Angeli Pangilinan said that he was “okay,” clarifying that his Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis “goes through serious medical issues.”

Among the stars expected to grace the show are Over October, AC Bonifacio, A-Team, Darren Espanto, Gab Valenciano, Kiana Valenciano, Gloc-9, Jay Durias, Joshua Zamora, SB19, as well as the dance troupes Manoeuvres Ignite and W3.
