Blackpink’s Jisoo and Park Jeong-min will portray a couple braving a zombie apocalypse to reunite with each other in the upcoming drama “Newtopia,” set for a February 2025 release.
Jisoo and Park’s casting was announced in a press statement from a Korean streaming platform, where they will portray Kang Young-joo and Lee Jae-yoon, respectively.
The series tells the story of Jae-yoon (Park), who is described as someone who started his military enlistment at a later age, which led to him having doubts about his future. Being apart from his girlfriend Young-joo (Jisoo) led to them ending their relationship after an argument.
As a zombie apocalypse ravages their town, Jae-yoon is appointed as the leader of his squad while Young-joo adapts to its effects to survive. But they find themselves in a race to beat the odds to be together again.
