Enhypen credits tireless efforts, fans after marking 4th year in K-pop
One of the milestones that Enhypen considers to be memorable in 2024 was celebrating their fourth anniversary last month, November. For them, it wouldn’t be possible without the efforts of the members and their dedicated fans, or Engenes.
Formed through the survival show “I-Land” under the HYBE sub-label Belift Lab, the K-pop boy group consists of Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Ni-ki. They debuted in November 2020 with the mini-album “Border: Day One.”
Apart from their fourth debut anniversary, Enhypen brought home the Album Bonsang for their fourth mini-album, “Dark Blood,” won at the Golden Disc Awards, Artist of the Year Bonsang at the Hanteo Music Awards, and Worldwide Fans’ Choice Top 10 plum at the 2024 MAMA Awards, among other achievements.
“In the past four years, we couldn’t have imagined coming this far and obtaining all these achievements without our Engenes. Also because of our hardworking members, we were able to make the great team we are now,” Jungwon said in a press conference in Taguig moments before their “Des7ined” fun meet.

“We have a lot of goals set for [next] year and we will do our best to accomplish them one by one,” he said. “We’re [preparing] for Coachella, and we have a lot of big stages prepared. I hope you can look forward to it and we can have a good impression.”
On ‘Romance: Untold -Daydream-’
“Romance: Untold -Daydream-” is Enhypen’s recent record to date, which was released in November. A repackage of their second album “Romance: Untold,” it includes two new songs, “Daydream” and “No Doubt,” with the latter being promoted as the lead single.
“It’s continuing the storyline of ‘Romance: Untold.’ We’re putting out cheerier songs and we haven’t tried before. The style of the songs is very new to us so it’s a nice challenge to us as a group,” Jake said, touching how the group released dark and vampire-esque music in the past.
“Through this album, we’re able to open a vision towards new styles and new music. I hope we’ll be able to release new styles of music [in the future],” he added.
The group is best known for their hit songs including “Polaroid Love,” “Drunk Dazed,” “Sweet Venom” and “Bite Me,” which caught the attention of K-pop fans on TikTok.
