Wedding bells may soon be ringing for Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco as the American actress-singer announced that they are now engaged.
Gomez made the announcement through her Instagram page on Thursday, Dec. 12, showing a closer look at her diamond ring. She also shared a photo of herself flaunting her ring while locked in Blanco’s embrace.
“forever begins now..,” she captioned the post.
Blanco, in turn, wrote in the comments section, “hey wait… that’s my wife.”
Gomez and Blanco, who worked together in the former’s songs “Same Old Love” and “I Can’t Get Enough,” made their relationship public in 2023.
Just last May, Gomez opened up about her initial plans to adopt and be a single mom before she fell in love with the American producer-songwriter.
“I was alone for five years, and I got really used to it. A lot of people are afraid of being alone, and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it,” she said in an interview with TIME magazine.
“Then I came up with my plan, which was that I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone,” added the 32-year-old actress.
Speaking about Blanco, Gomez continued, “He has such strength in him that none of that noise fazes him. It’s really impressive, and I just cherish every moment with him. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that he’s not going anywhere any time soon.”
