Janella Salvador recognized as Southeast Asian Best Actress in Malaysia

Janella Salvador has nothing but gratitude after receiving an international recognition, Top 10 of Asia’s Southeast Asian Best Actress.

Salvador showed moments from when she received the plaque at the Top 10 of Asia event held in Malaysia, through her Instagram page on Friday, Dec. 6.

“An absolute honor it is for me to be recognized as Top 10 of Asia’s Southeast Asian Best Actress—THANK YOU,” she said in the caption.

Top 10 of Asia is a publication based in Malaysia which “showcases Asia’s excellence in all its diversity: arts, literature, cultures, industries, personalities, lifestyles, innovations, politics, governments and sports,” as per its website.

“I have always just hoped to touch people through my art and would like to share this award with all of the hardworking people I’ve worked with on and off cam,” Salvador added. “Here’s to Philippine cinema reaching wider audiences!”

Among Salvador’s recent projects was the film “Under Parallel Skies,” in which she starred with Thai actor Win Metawin. The movie is also the first Philippine cross-country film to have its world premiere at the Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong.

Salvador also gained praises for portraying the villain Valentina in the 2022 ABS-CBN TV series “Mars Ravelo’s Darna.”
