Kim Tae-hyung — best known as BTS’ V — is heartbroken as he mourned the loss of his pet dog Yeontan, saying his furbaby took a “long journey to the stars.”

V took to his Instagram Story on Monday, December 2 to announce Yeontan’s death, although he didn’t disclose the exact date and reason behind his dog’s passing.

“To be honest, the reason why I’m posting is because Yeontan recently left for a long journey to the stars,” he wrote in Korean. “I’m worried about how to tell you this, but seeing as Army loved Yeontan so much up to now, I thought it was right for me to tell you, and that is how I ended up conveying the news like this.”

Despite this, the BTS member hoped that his fans would enjoy the rest of the year while noting the importance of telling their loved ones how much they love them.

“I hope your year-end season will be a warm one where you can tell the loved ones around you that you love them, one more time. I hope ARMY will be healthy until I can meet you again. I love you. Thank you,” he said.

Touching on his recent duet with South Korean balladeer Park Hyo-shin, V said it’s a reminder that December had already started. “It’s a relief that the weather doesn’t seem all that cold yet. I think it’s been a long time since I’ve greeted Army through a song.”

“I’m recalling the enjoyable memories I had while preparing for the duet with Hyo-shin hyung (older brother), whom I really like, as well as my cover of the respected Bing Crosby’s carol which will be released soon. Come to think of it, it’s already December,” he said.

V also shared clips of his favorite memories with Yeontan, where he was gazing lovingly at his pooch before giving him a treat.

The “Slow Dancing” singer also shared a glimpse of his unforgettable moments with Yeontan in a separate Instagram post.

Yeontan is a male, black-and-tan Pomeranian dog who was first introduced during Jin’s birthday live in December 2017. It was then revealed that the dog was born in September of the same year.

Due to V’s busy schedule, Yeontan lived with his parents. The fur parent-and-son duo, however, remained close until his death.
