After taking home the Best Actress trophy in last year’s MMFF for her performance in “When I Met You in Tokyo,” Santos is back to vie for the top acting honors as she explores the dark and gritty themes in “Uninvited” that she said truly challenged her.

“It’s been hard for me to find a role that will be suitable for my age and the role that will challenge me because, in my more than 62 years in the industry, I feel like I’ve already done every role and most of the characters appear to be repetitive,” said the veteran star during the film’s grand media launch.

“But with ‘Uninvited’ and my role, I feel I was somehow challenged,” she noted.

“Uninvited” is set to open in local cinemas on Dec. 25, alongside other MMFF entries.
