Lady Gaga will star alongside Jenna Ortega in the second season of the hit series “Wednesday,” multiple news outlets confirmed.
The American actress-singer’s role has yet to be revealed, but she has reportedly joined the show’s filming in Europe.
Citing insiders, Variety stated that Lady Gaga will only make a cameo in the series. It added that the production team initially tried to cast Gaga for a bigger role, but that it did not work out.
Lady Gaga’s casting came after her 2011 song “Bloody Mary” was used by fans in video edits of Ortega’s “Wednesday” dance scene — which became a hit on social media.
In 2023, Ortega, who plays the titular role Wednesday Addams, also welcomed the idea of Lady Gaga joining the show.
“Miss Thornhill (Christina Ricci) and Wednesday had this weird kind of mentor relationship or understood each other in a certain way, so if Lady Gaga were to be a part of [‘Wednesday’], they’d have to be two monsters who understand each other,” Ortega said.
The full cast for the new season was unveiled last May. Also reprising their role as Ortega’s onscreen family are Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams.
“Wednesday” season 2 is slated for streaming in 2025.
