On-screen partners Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards dished the possibility of a third installment in the “Hello, Love” franchise as they said that the upcoming second film “Hello, Love, Again” will put an end to the story of Joy and Ethan.
In an interview on “24 Oras,” the duo was asked about the possibility of a second sequel.
“I think this will put an end,” Bernardo began as Richards pitched in, “to Joy and Ethan’s journey.”
Richards emphasized that it’s time to close this certain chapter: “Pagpahingahin na natin sila (Let’s give them a rest). They have been through a lot but from our point of view, maybe it’s time to say goodbye to Joy and Ethan but what if, the what if, but we can’t tell. But for us personally, parang okay na (we’re okay).”
Bernardo added, “This will answer all their questions.”
After the success of the first movie, “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” in 2019, the pair is set to reunite in the sequel, “Hello, Love, Again,” which is slated to be released on Nov. 13.
Bernardo and Richards also got real about the pressure of delivering a better output in the second installment, given the success of the first film.
“Medyo mabilis lahat ng nangyari (everything happened so fast) so it’s just sinking in now, I think. And I’m pretty nervous,” expressed the actress.
“Actually in all projects naman, most especially this project, since this is very special to both of us, the pressure of, you know, kasi may tinitingnan na (we’re looking at a) benchmark from the previous film. Of course there’s going to be comparison in a way and siyempre ‘yung pressure of the box office, etc. But it is for the people to decide and it’s for them to really, by word of mouth, to tell if the movie is worth watching,” Richards further explained.
Bernardo affirmed that she takes comfort in knowing that she’s not alone facing the pressure.
“I think it is just very comforting to know that I am not doing this alone because, like what I said, kanina grabe lang siguro ‘yung sobrang kinakabahan sa lahat ng mangyayari (it feels like there was too much nervousness about everything that would happen) so it is just nice na feeling ko ngayon hindi ko lang siya mag-isa hinaharap (that I’m not the only one facing it), kasi kasama ko si (because I’m with) Alden,” she stated.
