The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has successfully reviewed and given the appropriate classifications to a total of 23,399 television and film materials during the month of October.

These materials include TV plugs and trailers, movie trailers, and publicity materials for both local and international films.

The Board said it reviewed 11,512 TV programs, 11,640 TV plugs and trailers, 66 films (local and international), 54 movie trailers, and 127 movie publicity materials.

MTRCB Chairperson Lala Sotto-Antonio emphasized that this accomplishment is a testament that the local film and TV industry is thriving.

“We are happy to see a rising trend in the number of materials that undergo MTRCB rating and classification,” she said.

“This is a positive indicator that the film and TV industry has been steadily growing,” added the chairperson.

MTRCB affirmed that reviewing and giving the appropriate ratings to all materials reflect their commitment to upholding viewer protection.

Last month, alongside other films, Marian Rivera’s “Balota” and Lovi Poe’s “Guilty Pleasure” earned age-appropriate ratings from the MTRCB.

“Balota” earned an R-13 (restricted-13) rating, meaning children 12 years old and below are not allowed to watch the film.

Poe’s “Guilty Pleasure,” on the other hand, received an R-16 rating, meaning only those aged 16 and older are allowed to view the film.
