Ju Ji-hoon and Jung Yu-mi will star as ex-high school sweethearts who cross paths after 18 years in the upcoming romantic comedy “Love Your Enemy,” which is set to premiere on November 23.

The South Korean actors’ casting was confirmed in a press statement of a streaming platform, where the rom-com follows a “fun new twist” to Romeo and Juliet.

Ju will take on the role of Seok Ji-won, the president of the prestigious Dokmok High School. Meanwhile, Jung will star as Yoon Ji-won, the school’s physical education teacher.

Coming from rival families, the romance between Seok and Yoon started when they were born on the same day, and coincidentally, have the same names. Their passionate romance ended in a bitter breakup after failing to resolve their “small misunderstanding,” despite “fighting against the odds.”

They eventually cross paths at Dokmok High School 18 years later. A grown-up Seok and Yoon consider themselves rivals, but it turns out that there’s more than “mere hatred.”

“Eighteen years later, Jiwon and Jiwon once again find themselves working together and old hatreds begin to resurface. Working to undermine each other at every turn, the pair slowly comes to realize that perhaps there’s more to their feelings than just anger and resentment,” the synopsis added.

The upcoming series will be directed by Park Joon-hwa, who’s best known for his work in “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim.”

Ju started his entertainment career as a model until he eventually bagged his breakthrough role in “Princess Hours” in 2006. The actor is also known for his appearances in “Kingdom,” “Mask,” and “Jirisan,” and is set to take on the lead role in the upcoming mystery series “Light Shop.”

Meanwhile, Jung is an award-winning actress in South Korea, whose notable works include the films “Train to Busan” and “Kim Ji-young: Born 1982.”
