The “Gento” craze continues, as SB19 brought their smash hit to the Taiwanese survival show “Atom Boyz” season two where they appeared as special guests.

The P-pop powerhouse — consisting of Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin — performed “Gento” on the survival show’s 11th episode which aired on Saturday, November 2.

Stell and Justin thanked “Atom Boyz 2” for inviting SB19 to be part of the survival show’s episode after their performance. They also hoped that their appearance would inspire its contestants throughout its run.

Touching on their guest appearance, Josh, on the other hand, hoped that the Philippines would create more platforms for P-pop acts to “showcase their talents.”

“It makes us happy to be part of a show that allows people from all over the world to showcase their talent. I hope the Philippines will have programs like this. Shoutout to the networks,” he said. “I hope P-pop will have a platform since it’s growing bigger, like T-pop. So more groups can experience this kind of treatment and showcase their talent.”

SB19 also took to their X (formerly Twitter) account to announce their appearance on the Taiwanese survival show.

Aside from SB19, P-pop girl group G22 will also appear on the Taiwanese survival show as a guest performer. The social media platforms of the female trio uploaded a clip of them performing “Bang.”

“Gento” is the lead track of SB19’s second EP “Pagtatag!” which became one of the group’s biggest hits. Aside from their concerts, SB19 also performed the song in several events including the 2023 Asia Artist Awards in December of last year and the Japanese music platform “The First Take.”

Many singers also joined in the “Gento” trend on TikTok including Enhypen’s Sunghoon and Jungwon, Super Junior’s Eunhyuk, 2NE1’s Minzy, and ATEEZ’s San and Hongjoong, to name a few.

The airing of SB19’s appearance came days after they bagged the Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Duo/Group Concert Performer of the Year, and Dance Recording of the Year awards at the 16th PMPC Star Awards for Music.

“Atom Boyz 2” is the second season of the Taiwanese survival show which divides 80 contestants into groups, until two remaining units will fight for the championship.
