Rufa Mae Quinto will reunite with filmmaker Joyce Bernal for a women empowerment-centered flick, 10 years after working together in the movie “Masikip sa Dibdib: The Boobita Rose Story.”
In an interview with reporters on the Opulence Ball red carpet last October 31, Quinto gave a brief teaser of her upcoming film with Bernal titled “Ang Babaeng Na F**k Up ng Sistema.”
“Mayroon po ako for VMX with Direk Joyce Bernal. Magre-reunion kami… Maganda ito, para sa lahat ng kababaihan (I have a film for VMX with Direk Joyce Bernal. We’ll have a reunion. It’s a nice film for all women),” she said.
Quinto shared that Alessandra de Rossi was tapped to write the film’s screenplay, with scenes set to be filmed abroad.
The actress-comedienne, however, didn’t disclose when the film will be released to the public, cast members, and storyline, among other details.
Quinto also hinted that she would be part of Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino’s upcoming film, although she didn’t disclose if it would be Star Cinema’s “My Love Will Make You Disappear” or if it would be a different project.
“Ang Babaeng Na F**k Up ng Sistema” marks Quinto and Bernal’s reunion after working together in the films “Masikip sa Dibdib: The Boobita Rose Story,” “Super-B,” and “Booba.”
Known for her campiness, witty remarks, and her signature “go go go” catchphrase, Quinto was a popular fixture in Philippine pop culture.
She recently appeared in the variety shows “LOL: Last One Laughing Philippines” and “Comedy Island,” and served as a judge on the “Kalokalike” segment of “It’s Showtime.”
