Martin was interacting with fans on the fourth day of Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres” show at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, when he accidentally walked backward through a trap door mid-concert, as seen in footage captured by fans on social media.

Martin’s fall came weeks after singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo fell through a trap door mid-concert during her “Guts” concert in Melbourne last October, but in another venue.

The fall didn’t seem to faze the “Vampire” singer as she immediately got back up, while saying, “Ohmigod, that was fun! I’m okay. Sometimes, there’s just a hole in the stage.

Coldplay is set to visit the Accor Stadium in Sydney, Australia for a four-night concert from November 6 to 10. The band previously visited the Philippines in January 2024.
