Stell Ajero of SB19 had a chance to explore the land of Oz after attending the Australia premiere of the fantasy musical film “Wicked,” which stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

Ajero took to his Instagram page on Sunday, November 3 to share that he was invited to attend the Australian premiere of the upcoming film, held at the State Theatre in Sydney, Australia.

He was invited by Universal Pictures Philippines—the local branch of the film’s distributor—to the event, per the “Room” singer.

“See you at the Wicked World Premiere! Thank you for inviting me, @UniversalPicsPH,” he wrote.

In a separate post, Ajero shared glimpses of himself enjoying the film’s premiere, where he admired the film’s cast, posed in several areas of the theater, and accommodated photo requests from fans.

“What an experience! I really loved the movie. Getting to [see] it made my heart soooooo happy! I can’t wait for you guys to see it too,” he said in the caption of his post.

Meanwhile, Universal Pictures PH said on its Facebook page that the SB19 member “was one of the first Filipinos” to see the film.

“Touchdown Sydney. SB19 Stell Ajero is headed to the ‘Wicked’ movie world premiere! He will be one of the first Filipinos in the world to see the magic on the big screen,” the post read.

Ajero has long been a fan of the musical and has previously sung one of its hit songs, “Defying Gravity,” on multiple occasions including his opening performance in David Foster’s Manila concert in June 2024 and the Quezon City leg of SB19’s “Pagtatag!” World Tour in June 2023.

“Wicked” is an adaptation of the hit Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman-helmed musical of the same name. Its storyline was originally based on the 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire featuring characters from the 1900 novel “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.”

The movie—the first of a two-part film series—stars Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, and Peter Dinklage, to name a few. It will premiere in the Philippines on November 20.

Ajero debuted as the main vocalist, lead dancer, and choreographer of SB19 in October 2018. He made his debut as a solo artist in June 2024.
