Kendra Kramer, 15, wowed fans after she reaped medals at the recent Asia Christian Schools Conference swimming competition held in Hong Kong.
Kendra spoke about her journey as an athlete while showing her bronze and silver medals through her Instagram page on Sunday, Oct. 27.
“My swim journey continues, one stroke at a time. My mindset: Hard work truly works!” she said. “Embrace the journey, embrace the struggle, stay disciplined, visualize success.”
“I love this sport with all my heart, and I will continue to push myself and reach new heights,” she stated.
Kendra described her recent competition as “something extremely special,” saying she was able to achieve new personal bests during the event, meet new friends, bond with her team, and do mission work.
Kendra then expressed her gratitude to her parents, actress Cheska Garcia and former basketball player Doug Kramer, who are her No. 1 supporters and critics and who were with her during the competition.
“God has been so amazing in my life. I give all the glory to Him. God is so good!” Kendra said.
Doug, for his part, penned an open letter to his daughter through his Instagram page.
“Kendra, mom and I truly believe in you! People will see the 3rd place, the 2nd place, and might even question it, but they don’t see and realize the climb you’ve done from the bottom. But we have,” he said.
“All the sacrifice of training 2x a day, waking up [at] 4:30 a.m., getting in land and gym workouts, to balancing school and other commitments,” he continued. “These are the seeds you’ve been planting, and you’re slowly starting to harvest.”
Doug also thanked Kendra’s coaches for “guiding and molding Kendra in becoming the best she can be.”
“Keep shining baby girl! We’re right behind you!” he said. “And we truly believe, the best has yet to come.”
Kendra is the eldest daughter of Doug and Cheska. The couple has two more children named Scarlett and Gavin.
