UNIS, BINI, SB19 donate, join efforts to help Typhoon Kristine victims
Rising K-pop girl group UNIS, as well as P-pop powerhouses BINI and SB19, extended their platforms to help the victims of severe tropical storm Kristine, which Pagasa projects to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Friday afternoon.
On Thursday, October 24, the female octet announced in a press conference that they would donate part of the proceeds of their “UNIS in Curiousland” fan concert to the victims.
UNIS consists of members from the Philippines (Elisia Parmisano and Gehlee Dangca); Japan (Nana and Kotoko); and South Korea (Hyeonju, Yunha, Seowon, Yoona).
“We would like to send a message of comfort to those who were affected by the typhoon. UNIS will be donating a part of the income from the fan concert to those who were affected by the typhoon,” said the group’s leader Hyeon-ju.
“We hope that there will be not much damage to those who were affected,” she added.

Meanwhile, Elisia hoped that her fellow countrymen would find “strength, resilience, and hope” at this time.
“We’re hoping and praying that you and your loved ones are safe and sound. We hope that you guys find the strength, resilience, and of course, hope. Know that help is on the way, and we hope that you guys stay safe,” she said.
BINI
BINI, on the other hand, announced on Friday, October 25, that they would be donating P1 million of the proceeds of their “Grand BINIverse” concerts to the victims.
“Bilang tulong ng BINI at ABS-CBN sa mga nasalanta ng bagyong Kristine, kami po ay magdo-donate ng P1 million sa aming ‘Grand BINIverse’ concert para matulungan po namin ang mga nasalantang kababayan po natin,” the group’s leader Jhoanna said at the “Tulong-tulong Hanggang Dulo” online donation drive.
(As BINI and ABS-CBN’s way of helping the victims of super typhoon Kristine, we will be donating P1 million of the proceeds of our “Grand BINIverse” concert to help our affected countrymen.)
Jhoanna hoped the group’s donation would help the victims start over while thanking their dedicated fans (or Blooms) for their support.
“Ang halagang ito ay maging panimula po sana ng mga donasyon sa ABS-CBN Foundation Sagip Kapamilya. Magtulungan po tayo para makatulong sa ating mga kababayan,” she said. “It’s a way of giving back din dahil ‘yung mga Blooms din po talaga yung sumu-support din po sa amin.”
(Hopefully, this amount, along with ABS-CBN Foundation Sagip Kapamilya, will help our countrymen start anew. Let’s help each other while helping our countrymen as well. It’s also our way of giving back because our Blooms supported us along the way.)
Gwen also sent a message of hope to her fellow Bicolanos who were affected by the typhoon. “We really pray for everyone’s safety… I hope we find hope to rise again. Makakabangon ang Bicolandia,” she said.
BINI — consisting of Jhoanna, Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, and Sheena — will hold their “Grand BINIverse” concert from November 16 to 18 at the Araneta Coliseum.
SB19
Meanwhile, SB19 announced that a donation drive for in-kind goods will be held at the Araneta Coliseum from October 26 to 27.
The quintet announced the donation drive on the social media platforms of their agency, 1Z Entertainment.
