Rachel Peters expressed her appreciation for her husband, Camarines Sur 5th District Rep. Migz Villafuerte, commending him for “genuinely helping” those affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

The Miss Universe Philippines 2017 titleholder said this while showing Villafuerte extending help himself to the victims of the storm, via her Instagram Stories on Thursday, Oct. 24.

“Feeling helpless and can’t stop thinking about everyone in CamSur but wanted to take a moment to say how proud I am of Migz Villafuerte and his dedication to genuinely helping those in need,” she wrote.

“The whole team are doing all they can and exhausting all resources to be able to rescue and get relief goods across CamSur but this storm has been relentless,” she lamented.

Meanwhile, on his Instagram page, Villafuerte assured his constituents that he and his team are “doing [their] best to answer all calls for help.”

In a succeeding post, Villafuerte seemingly addressed the viral photo of him giving P500 to a grandmother whose house was deep in floodwaters.

He showed a full clip of the said instance where the grandmother can be seen calling out to him and seemingly asking for “money to buy a new roof.”

“I will always give my all for you CamSur,” he said in the caption. “Kahit konti lang ang dala ko dyan, pero mula sa puso yan, lola. Pagkatapos nitong lahat, papaayos ko bubong niyo. Promise.”

(I only had a small amount of money with me at the time but it was from the heart, grandmother. After all of this, I’ll get your roof fixed. I promise.)

Migz along with his brother, Camsur Governor Luigi Villafuerte, and their father, CamSur 2nd District Rep. LRay Villafuerte, were earlier criticized after photos of them supposedly hanging out in Siargao while Kristine caused severe flooding across Bicol made rounds on social media.

LRay denied this and said the photos were taken last Oct. 19, and that they were already back in the Bicol Region on Oct. 21.

“During times of calamities, we should help each other and be united, but there are desperate forces, liars, and crazy people releasing fake information through their fake accounts,” LRay said in Filipino.

“We want to find solutions instead of posting, but I have to do this to prove that our opponents in politics are liars and desperate,” he added.
