Chris Hemsworth, known for his role as Thor in the Marvel movies, is reportedly in talks to play the titular prince in the upcoming “Prince Charming” movie by Disney.

According to Deadline, they can confirm that Hemsworth is set to play the iconic fairytale love interest after Disney recently announced the production of “Prince Charming.”

Paul King, who’s known for his works in “Wonka” and the “Paddington” films, is slated to direct and is cowriting the movie with screenwriters Simon Farnaby and Jon Croker.

Despite rising to fame for being Cinderella’s love interest in the classic 1950 animated movie, the upcoming “Prince Charming” movie is reportedly “not going to be linked to Cinderella.”

Exact plot details have not been disclosed, as the film is said to be currently in the early stages of production. Disney has also yet to confirm Hemsworth’s casting.

Hemsworth’s recent projects include voicing Optimus Prime in the animated sci-fi film “Transformers One” and portraying Dementus in George Miller’s “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” opposite Anya Taylor-Joy.

Despite riding stardom playing a superhero, the Australian actor has tried his hand at fairytales in the past, portraying the Huntsman, an evil henchman-turned-good guy, in “Snow White and the Huntsman” (2012) and the follow-up “The Huntsman: Winter’s War” (2016).

Hemsworth is now set to star in Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming thriller “Crime 101,” alongside Halle Berry, Barry Keoghan, and his “Avengers” co-star Mark Ruffalo.

Meanwhile, Richard Madden, who portrayed Robb Stark in “Game of Thrones,” has played the Prince Charming in 2015’s live-action “Cinderella,” starring Lily James as the titular princess.
