Count Dominic Roque among celebrities who were stranded in Sorsogon after the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine prevented them from crossing back to Manila.
Kristine, with international name Trami, made landfall in Divilacan town in Isabela province at 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, Pagasa said. In its 8 a.m. bulletin, the state weather bureau said Kristine is now over the Cordillera Administrative Region, moving over Northern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour (kph) near its center and gusts of up to 160 kph.
On his Instagram, Roque said he and his companions have been staying at a beach resort in Sta. Magdalena, Sorsogon when Kristine let out its full might over the province and nearby areas.
“‘Can’t go home yet.. Stranded here for two days now,” Roque said.
“If the sea permits, we will cross Allen (a port in Samar) then proceed directly to Tacloban to fly back to Manila. The others will go through Surigao to Davao,” he added.
Roque then shared a photo of him and his fellow motorcycle riders stranded at the beach resort, which included fellow actors Jak Roberto and Jason Abalos. It was not immediately known, however, if the two actors are still with Roque as of this writing.
A few hours later, Roque gave an update and said that he is still in the resort.
“Still here… Still stranded…,” he wrote.
Extending his prayers to those who have been affected as well by Kristine, the actor added, “I hope you are all safe after the onslaught of tropical storm Kristine.”
Just prior to this, members of the OPM band Parokya ni Edgar revealed that they have been stranded in Sorsogon as well after their flights were cancelled due to the severe tropical storm.
Sorsogon has been under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 as of Wednesday, 11:00 p.m.
