“Uninvited,” an official entry to the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), has finally unveiled its first teaser, starring Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos and award-winning actress Nadine Lustre.
The trailer opened with a montage of different people’s graduation photos before Aga Muhlach’s voice took over, thanking his guest for attending his grand party.
“I have lived longer than my father and my grandfather, and not a single trace of their sickness in my body. This is not just a party. This is not just a celebration. Tonight, we commemorate the day I defied my own destiny,” stated Muhlach’s character.
Santos was then seen entering the party in a chilling and mysterious tone. Lustre also appeared, showing a strange aura as she engaged in a conversation with a guy.
The trailer also displayed some violent scenes as three men beat up one guy and Muhlach was then captured, scaring Gabby Padilla and hitting another man in the face.
Aside from the aforementioned, Tirso Cruz III, Mylene Dizon, Elijah Canlas, RK Bagatsing, Lotlot De Leon, Ketchup Eusebio, Cholo Barretto, Gio Alvarez, and Ron Angeles were also part of the stellar cast line-up.
“Uninvited” is directed by Dan Villegas and produced by Mentorque Productions, producer of MMFF 2023 hit “Mallari,” and Project 8 Projects, producer of Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2024 entry “Sunshine.”
The thriller film is set to open in cinemas on Christmas, Dec. 25, alongside other MMFF entries, Vice Ganda’s “And the breadwinner is…,” Dennis Trillo’s “Green Bones,” Jane de Leon and Enrique Gil’s “Strange Frequencies: Haunted Hospital,” Aicelle Santos and Bituin Escalante’s “Himala: Isang Musikal,” and Vic Sotto and Piolo Pascual’s “The Kingdom.”
