Gabbi Garcia admitted that she had a hard time moving on from her relationship with ex-boyfriend and fellow Kapuso actor Ruru Madrid, saying the actor was her “first love.”

Garcia made the brief confession during a “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview on Monday, October 21, where she took on the “guilty or not guilty challenge” with host Boy Abunda.

“Guilty or not guilty, you had a hard time moving on,” Abunda asked Garcia, to which she said: “Guilty.”

Abunda immediately followed up with, “Kay Ruru [Madrid]?” which made Garcia laugh in surprise.

“Oh, there’s a follow-up! From Ruru, yes. He’s my first love),” she said.

The actress was then asked by Abunda if her current partner, actor-singer Khalil Ramos, doesn’t mind Madrid’s name being mentioned.

“Yeah, he’s very open. Yeah, [he is very secure] and he’s a smart person, he can handle things,” she said.

Garcia and Madrid were in a relationship when they were 15 and 16, respectively. In a separate “Fast Talk” interview in March 2023, the “Lolong” star said Garcia was his only girlfriend before dating his current partner, Bianca Umali.

The “Unbreak My Heart” star, on the other hand, has been dating Ramos for seven years. During the interview, Garcia described the latter as someone who “gives [her] peace.”

Both expressed their happiness for each other’s love lives in a 24 Oras report in September 2024.

Garcia and Madrid, who will reunite in “Sang’gre,” have worked together in “Let the Love Begin” and “Encantadia.”
