Members of the OPM band Parokya ni Edgar were among those stranded in Sorsogon after flights were canceled due to Tropical Storm Kristine.

The band, which was in the city for their Oct. 21-show for the Kasanggayahan Festival, gave an update on their situation through their Facebook page on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

“Stranded kami sa Sorsogon,” the group said in their post, which showed them posing for a photo under the pouring rain. “Di kami makauwi. Canceled lahat ng flights. Delikado din daw mag-roadtrip. So naligo na lang kami sa ulan.”

(We are stranded in Sorsogon. We can’t go home. All flights were canceled. It is also not safe to go on a roadtrip, so we just bathed in the rain.)

“Stay safe, everyone!” they added.

Aside from Parokya ni Edgar, rappers Flow G and Skusta Clee were also among the performers at the festival. It was not immediately known however if the two artists were able to return to Metro Manila.

The Sorsogon Public Information Office announced also on Tuesday that all remaining activities for the Kasanggayahan Festival province were postponed.

Kristine intensified into a tropical storm on early Tuesday. As of Tuesday, 11:35 p.m., the east portion of Sorsogon (Barcelona, Gubat, Prieto Diaz) has been under Tropical Storm Wind Signal No. 2, where winds of greater than 62 km/h and up to 88 km/h may be expected in at least 24 hours, causing minor to moderate impacts to life and property.

The rest of the Sorsogon is under TCWS No. 1.
