Jillian Ward believes that while all celebrities deserve privacy, but they have the responsibility to protect their own privacy and reserve the information that could be revealed to the public.
In a “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview on Friday, October 18, Ward spoke about the need to maintain certain aspects of a celebrity’s life private. She was asked if celebrities have the right to complain when she was asked if celebrities have the right to complain if they’re not given any privacy, hounded by controversies, or dealing with sleeping nights.
“To an extent [we need privacy]. Of course, we’re only human, especially other celebrities who fiercely guard their privacy. But sometimes, they couldn’t do anything about it because we’re the apple of the public’s eye.)
The actress, however, noted that while celebrities call for privacy, it’s a responsibility that they need to take seriously.
“Everything gets noticed, so I think we also deserve to have privacy, but we should work on it. It’s ou responsibility,” she said.
Talks about the need for celebrities to protect their private lives made waves after BINI Aiah and Gwen expressed their concerns toward those who ignored their need for privacy earlier this year.
Lea Salonga’s need for privacy, too, also made headlines after Filipino fans sneaked into her dressing room in the Broadway musical “Here Lies Love” in 2023.
Ward is the lead star of the afternoon drama “Abot Kamay na Pangarap,” which aired its final episode last October 19.
