As everyone continues to mourn the unexpected death of Liam Payne, fans went back to the singer’s final social media posts and public interactions that were deemed “joyful and lovely” just hours before his tragic passing.

Taken from a now deleted Snapchat post, Payne shared multiple photos and videos of his trip with girlfriend Kate Cassidy in Buenos Aires, where he met his death after falling from the third floor of their hotel.

In one of the videos, the “Teardrops” singer filmed himself having a conversation with his girlfriend on their breakfast table. “Morning, everybody. A lovely day here in Argentina,” he said to the camera.

The former One Direction member also shared a photo of the place they were staying at and captioned it with, “Happy I got some time away [red heart emoji].”

After his social media posts went viral, fans who had the opportunity to see him the night before his death also took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a video of their interaction with the late singer.

The 31-year-old singer was captured smiling and even singing a Spanish song as he signed autographs for fans and posed photos with them.

On Wednesday evening, Oct. 16, Payne shocked the entertainment industry after reports on his death, with local authorities revealing that they were initially responding to reports “of an aggressive man who may have been under the effects of drugs and alcohol,” possibly hinting at the last state of the singer.

In the past, the “Strip That Down” singer opened up about his struggles with addiction and mental health, saying he has dealt with “suicidal thoughts,” especially during the peak of One Direction.

Payne was also recently embroiled in legal proceedings with his former fiancee Maya Henry, who alleged that the singer “abused” her, which led her to issue a cease-and-desist warning against him.
