After BTS member J-Hope ended his 18-month military service, the moment was celebrated by his dedicated fans (also known as ARMYs), who expressed their excitement for his future activities.
J-Hope, whose real name is Jung Ho-seok, was discharged from his mandatory service on Thursday, October 17, was welcomed by his bandmate Jin from his military camp in Wonju City in Gangwon Province, South Korea.
Hours after his discharge, the BTS member went live on the fan community platform Weverse to celebrate his return to his activities.
“I cannot believe that this day has come. I keep on saying this, but because of your cheers and wishes, I was able to do well. Let’s now walk on a flowery path. Thank you so much to all of you,” he said in Korean.

A report from Reuters said J-Hope was welcomed by thousands of fans outside his military base, where they hung up colorful banners and life-sized cut-outs of the K-pop star. This, despite his label BigHit urged ARMYs to refrain from visiting the military site as no special events were planned for that day.
J-Hope is the second member to be discharged from the military after Jin.
