Following the sudden death of former One Direction member Liam Payne, fellow celebrities, including Charlie Puth and Paris Hilton, extended their condolences and paid their heartfelt tribute to the late singer.
Puth took to Instagram to express his “disbelief” over the death of Payne, saying that the latter had always been “kind” to him.
“I’m in shock right now. Liam was always kind to me. He was one of the first major artists I got to work with. I cannot believe he is gone,” he wrote.

The “One Call Away” singer then shared an old photo and a video of him and the ex-member of One Direction, writing in his caption, “I am so upset right now. May he rest in peace.”

Puth also shared a video of Payne’s old interview in which he described the former as a “firm friend” and a “serious musician.”
In 2017, Puth wrote a song for Payne titled “Bedroom Floor.”
Meanwhile, Hilton took to X (formerly Twitter) to send her love to the loved ones Payne has left behind.
“So upsetting to hear the news of @LiamPayne passing. Sending love and condolences to his family & loved ones. RIP, my friend,” she wrote.
Payne rose to fame in 2010 as a member of One Direction with Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik.
Styles’ mother, Anne Twist, also posted a big heartbroken emoji on Instagram and wrote in her caption, “Just a boy.”
One of the sisters of Malik, Waliyha, likewise took to Instagram to share a series of photos of his brother and Payne during their time in One Direction.
“Literally heartbroken. RIP. I have no words [crying, sad, heartbroken emojis],” she captioned one of her posts.

Payne, 31, died after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on the evening of Oct. 16.
Before his death, the “Teardrops” singer was facing legal action from his former fiancee Maya Henry, who had a cease-and-desist order issued against him for “obsessively contacting” her and her family.
In 2021, Payne opened up about his battles over his mental health and addiction at the height of his teen stardom, saying he had “moments of suicidal ideation.”
The “Strip That Down” singer is survived by his 7-year-old son, Bear Grey Payne, with whom he shares with former girlfriend Cheryl Cole of Girls Aloud.
Payne was in a relationship with Kate Cassidy, who was with him in Buenos Aires hours before his death.
