Dennis Trillo hopped on the crop top trend and proudly showed off his toned physique in a body-hugging top, courtesy of his actress wife, Jennylyn Mercado.
Trillo first joined the trend when their family went to a theme park abroad, as seen on his Instagram page last Friday, Oct. 11. In the clip, Trillo and Mercado were walking around the park, with the actor wearing a striped crop top and baggy denim pants.
“King of the Crop,” he said in the caption.
In a succeeding post days later, Trillo once again donned a shirt with the cropped cut, posing for a video with two other companions who were wearing the same.
“Hello, mga Kapusod!” he quipped, using a play on the words “Kapuso” and “pusod” (navel).
Mercado reacted to the post via the comments section, saying, “Naghalungkat ka nanaman ng closet ko! Ibalik mo yan ha?” (You rummaged through my closet again! Return it to me, okay?)
In response, Trillo said, “Pahiram lang naman!” (I just borrowed it!)
The recent crop trend among men apparently started with two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, who flaunted himself wearing one during his South Korea trip in September.
Yulo’s fashion statement was commended by netizens, with some praising the gymnast for “breaking toxic masculinity.” Aside from Trillo, Yulo’s fellow Olympian, boxer Eumir Marcial, also hopped on the trend.
