This year’s edition of the Miss Universe pageant will run for less than three weeks in Mexico, according to the schedule of events circulating online.

The Miss Universe pageant will also gather its biggest haul for its 73rd edition, with participants from more than 120 countries and territories around the world scheduled to arrive in Mexico City, Mexico, from Oct. 29 to 31.

On the first day of November, the international competition will hold the “Gala de las Catrinas” to mark “Dia de los Muertos,” or the famous “Day of the Dead” festival in Mexico. “Catrina” is an elegantly dressed skeleton that is paraded in the annual celebration.

From Nov. 3 to 7, the delegates will go on an excursion tour of the country, but the specific destinations are yet to be disclosed. No activities have been announced from Nov. 8 to 11.

On Nov. 12, the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) will host a cocktail party, where the new crown for the 2024 winner will be unveiled. The current one used by reigning queen Sheynnis Palacios debuted in the 71st edition.

The crucial preliminary competition will take place at the “Preliminaries and National Competition Show” on Nov. 14, at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City.

On Nov. 15, MUO will bid adieu to Palacios through a “Farewell Afternoon Tea.” This is the first time in recent memory that MUO will host such an event for its reigning queen.

The 2024 Miss Universe coronation night will be held on Nov. 16 (Nov. 17 in Manila), also at the Arena CDMX, where Palacios will crown her successor.

The Philippines will be represented by Chelsea Manalo, who will try to post the country’s fifth victory in the international competition after Gloria Diaz (1969), Margie Moran (1973), Pia Wurtzbach (2015) and Catriona Gray (2018).
